The Marietta Dance Academy offers a variety of classes for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels in a non-competitive environment.

Marietta Dance Class

Since opening in 2001, the Marietta dance Academy’s goal has been to give its students the best in dance education through our teaching, training, and by sharing the love of the art.

We lead by example ~ encouraging kindness, teamwork and leadership.  Our qualified, experienced staff wants every student to feel successful.  Patience and positive reinforcement creates a fun, comfortable atmosphere for all our students.

A few points to consider about our studio:

ClassroomJill invested in a professional dance floor when we moved to our new location in 2007. In ballet, tap, jazz, even our pre-school classes require high impact movements of hopping, jumping and leaping. Since most dance shoes have very little cushioning or support, these repetitive actions can lead to stress on major joints. A “floating floor” reduces the risk of injury.

Both dance rooms have beautiful maple wood that rests on a high density foam system that has a shock absorbency of 62%.

ClassWe limit the size of our classes based on the age and skill level of our students. Our pre-school classes are limited to 10 students to ensure the teacher and assistant teacher are able to give personalized attention to each child. Fundamental concepts, discipline and proper technique are the basis of our curriculum. Smaller classes allow the teachers to make corrections and spend time with each student.

Our students concentrate on dance technique in all their classes, so we do not charge extra to learn technique. During the first half of the year, students focus primarily on improving their technique for their level. Then recital choreography is added to each class during the second half of the year. Dancers are expected to be proficient in the choreography that they will be performing. Courage to perform on stage contributes to personality development and growth of self-confidence, so we encourage all students to participate in the recital. Our performances always use age appropriate costumes, music and movements.
