General Guidelines

  • Our season is from September - May.
  • Monthly tuition is due at the first class of each month. Example: Some months have 5 classes, some may have only 3 due to a holiday. It averages out to be 4 classes per pay period. Only pay HALF of your regular amount of tuition for the month of December. We have only 2 weeks of classes in December, the last day of class is Dec.13.
  • You will be given a payment booklet. Use the appropriate envelope from your payment booklet when making payments, monthly tuition & costumes.
  • Missed classes are not pro-rated or refunded. Classes can be made up in an appropriate class. If you choose not to finish the month, you forfeit your tuition.
  • There must be at least 5 students registered in a class to keep it on the schedule.
  • Students who do not attend regularly will lose their place in class.
  • Please respect our dress code.
  • Please be prompt in picking up your child from the Dance Academy. Remind him/her that they should wait in the building for their ride.
  • Siblings & parents must be quiet in the waiting area and hallway. We have a water fountain. No food or drink is allowed in the dance rooms.
  • Please write your child's name in all dance shoes. The Dance Academy is not responsible for lost items. A lost & found basket is located in the dressing room.
  • Our spring performance date is Sunday, May 18. This requires a purchase of a costume that will be ordered by the Dance Academy. Depending on the age of the student, the price of the costume is $60-65 and includes a pair of tights.
  • All accounts must be current for the student to participate in any performances.

Dress code

  • For safety, no big earrings or necklaces.
  • Hair should be pulled up & back off of face, especially for tumbling class.
  • Little ones like to play dress up, but please don’t wear it to dance class - it’s cute but too distracting to the student & classmates.
  • No jeans, jean shorts, soccer or basketball shorts in dance class. “Would you wear your dance clothes to basketball practice?” Of course not, that would be silly! So please wear dance clothes to dance class.
  • Ballet - leotard, tights, dance skirt or form-fitting shorts, ballet slippers. Please do not wear the satin flat-soled slippers from WalMart, they fall off the feet & can cause the child slip & fall.
  • Jazz/Hip Hop - dance pants, dance shorts, capris, fitted top or leotard, jazz shoes or jazz sneakers.
  • Tap - same as above. Tap shoes. Pants should not drag the floor.
  • Lyrical - same as ballet, capris, ballet or lyrical shoes.
  • Male Dancers - dance pants, t-shirt, appropriate shoes.
  • WE HAVE REVOLUTION DANCE SHOES FOR SALE AT THE STUDIO FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE. We will also order Gaynor Minden pointe shoes for students in pointe classes. Orders will be placed twice a month.
